Director of Coaching: Pi’i Aiu
The Diff is proud to announce that Pi’i Aiu has been promoted to Director of Coaching. A decorated coach at CU Boulder, Pi’i has been a part of The Diff family since 2015. He will oversee coach and player development, as well as head coach the 18 Black team.
“Since its inception, The Diff has stood on a foundation of four core values: competitive excellence, developing the whole player, power of the unit and relentless effort. Pi’i’s abilities as a coach and a leader make him a perfect fit to steer the club in these areas,” said Trisha Kroll, Co-Owner of The Diff. “The ability to take a step back from my day-to-day responsibilities with the program was a difficult choice, but the right one for me and my family at this time. I have every confidence in Pi’i to lead the program.”
During his time at The Diff, Pi’i has head coached 16s and 17s teams, and most recently served as a mentor coach on the 15s team. His teams have won bronze at JGNC (2016), silver at Las Vegas (2017) and gold at Windy City (2018).
Owner Trisha Kroll will maintain an active role within the program, providing the vision and direction of the club, mental toughness and character curriculum, and overseeing setter training. Club Director Ami Lindgren will also take a step back for the 2019-2020 season after seven years of dedicated service.
Mosebar and Lucero to Join Leadership Team
In addition to Pi’i, Juliane Mosebar joins the leadership team at The Diff as Director of Operations, and Jenn Lucero joins as Director of Culture.
“Trisha and Ami leave big shoes to fill, which means it took three of us to step up and accomplish everything they do. Juliane and Jenn have proven themselves to be outstanding leaders with a heart to carry out The Diff’s mission,” said Pi’i. “We are excited for what their expanded roles will bring in the upcoming season.”
Juliane has been with The Diff since 2018 and has also recently launched Aspire Beach Volleyball Club out of The Diff’s sand courts. Jenn has been a critical member of The Diff coaching and leadership staff since the club was formed and is closely tied to the its culture formation.
